DEBUTING AT THE SEATTLE MINI MAKER FAIRE 2017, IT'S THE DESKTOP GUARDIAN KIT FROM MyOpen3D!
The Desktop Guardian is a basic Arduino kit that assembles into a trusty robot sidekick that will vigilantly stand watch over a small room, all while introducing builders to basic concepts in electronics, Arduino hardware and programming, and the fundamentals of sonar via an ultrasonic sensor. This kit is intended for children (aged 10+) and adults of all skill levels. We encourage all builders to tinker with the hardware design and Arduino sketch to adjust or broaden the Guardian’s basic functionality.
If you need assistance in assembly or if you would like help modify and/or change its functionality—particularly if you are located in the Seattle, Washington area—MyOpen3D encourages you to attend one of our workshops based on this kit! Please contact us to find dates for existing workshops or to schedule your own!
Once you've assembled the Guardian, be sure to check out this video narrated by MyOpen3D founder and lead designer, Alex Cheker, to get it up and running in no time: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D4XuGq49mvA
Also, be sure to follow us for more fun maker-y videos on 3D printing, CNC milling, basic electronics and engineering!
