Summary

This is a collection of tweaks I made while figuring out how to print JRad's Falcon 9 Block 5 model using PrusaSlicer.

Actuator_Male_4.2mm_jaws.stl: Replaced the 3.5mm pin with flexible jaws, to fix the problem where picking up the rocket causes the legs to collapse.

  • Print with a brim

Actuator_Female_5.2mm_depth: Flipped to improve bed adhesion, and increased the hole depth by 0.2mm to account for sloppy bridging.

  • Print with a brim
  • Cut (into parts) at z=5.2 and z=5.4, and set the middle part to "1 perimeter" so the bridge has a floor to print on.

Landing_Leg_with_support.stl: Similar to renrip's remix, but I didn't mess up the scaling.

  • Print with a brim

Grid_Fin_4.0mm_jaw_gap.stl: Tightened the jaws, initially 4.4mm.

  • Print with a raft (seems easier to remove than a brim)
  • 100% infill

Raceways_All_Falcon_9.stl: This is Raceways_All.stl with 2/3 of the copies removed.

Octaweb_WITH_Engines.stl: [see original]

  • Switch colors above z=12mm
  • Add a box modifier 4.4mm high, centered at z=13.2:
    • 100% infill
    • 0 top solid layers
    • Why? solid infill covers the top 4 layers of the base, and the narrowest part of the engines, with a clean transition in between.

Hull_crew_dragon_white.stl: [see original]

  • Print nose-down, Enforce support for the first 30 layers.

Dragon_falcon_adaptor_white_rebuild.stl: Remake of jamesrocket's adaptor because the tolerance seemed a bit off.

  • Print with Snug supports, 20 degree overhang threshold, on build plate only
