Summary

MTG Card Scanner v2.0

UPDATE: New Version available

Use the card scanner to easily scan cards with a suitable scanner app.

Simply insert the cards and turn the crank. The rollers transport the cards into the collection box where the scanner can capture them.

I recommend printing the collection box in white or very light colors so that the contrast is right.

The separator must be made of TPU, otherwise the cards could become scratched.

-NEW- The receiving box now consists of 2 parts, which can be glued together with tape or adhesive.

-NEW- The crank and shaft are now 2 parts and can be assembled together and glued if necessary.

-NEW- The scanner has been optimized and is now easier to print. The support structure can now be removed even more easily.

-NEW- The rollers no longer have notches and are intended for flat, wide rubber bands.

-NEW- Holder for rubberbands are now screws

-NEW- Optional Weight added, adds more pressure on the rolls

Additional parts required:
2x M3*5 screws

3x M4*10 screws

1x rubber band approx. 20mm

4x silicone rubber bands rings non-slip 10mm diameter 1mm thick 5mm wide

Assembly:
Place rubber bands on the rollers.

Slide the rollers onto the crank several times and then pull them off again so that they do not sit too tightly on the shaft.

Insert the crank from the front (labeled side) through the hole and insert the rollers individually.

Slide the card separator through the slot with the rounded side facing down and secure it with a rubber band.

No cards were damaged in my testing. However, use a own risk. Bad rubber bands can leave marks on the cards, so I recommend carrying out the first tests with standard lands.

Enjoy

(This version has the possibility to be equipped with a motor through additional parts. Since it is quite a bit of work to solder and adjust the circuit, I decided to only publish the manual version here. If you are interested in the motor version, PN)
