Summary

I loved how a method existed for converting MRI data into a 3D model of my brain, but I realized that it's hella annoying to have to install (on Linux only) FSL, FreeSurfer, dependencies, and helper programs. In addition, the 3Dprinting_brain.sh script provided in the original wasn't very user-friendly.

As such, I have taken it upon myself to make a Docker container that has everything you need to (hopefully) turn your raw scan data into a .stl file for 3D printing! It works! Here, you can see the output of the 160-slice version I uploaded earlier, in addition to a 24-slice scan. As you can see, the output is lower quality when there are fewer slices to work from.

If you want to make your own (if you've had an MRI, you can ask for the data on a CD), then follow along on my GitHub repo! An instructable is in the works!
