Summary

I really like the design for the V6 hotend from evancli, but I wanted to install a Revo Micro. I ended up having to almost totally redesign it, but a big thanks to evancli for sharing his hard work.

My changes:

  • Moved from E3D V6 to E3D Revo Micro hotend
  • Redesigned cooling a little (it still needs improvement - really it needs two directions and to be closer to the nozzle)
  • Since the Revo Micro is shorter, I had to twist the part cooling fan to make it all fit, and I had to angle the heatsink fan.
  • I added a baffle to block the heatsink fan flow from hitting the hotend
  • I changed the embedded nuts to holes for brass inserts - just a personal preference
  • I added a third mounting point to match the one that was originally on the machine

One negative change that I made is the upper part now needs support... sorry.

Mine is printed in carbon fiber ASA. The prototypes were in Sunlu PLA+ and worked fine, but I want to print higher temperature filaments.

I upgraded to new firmware to support the new thermocouple type. I made a new github fork of the excellent firmware by aegean-odyssey:
