All credit to ShareAlike, I just removed the lower part of the base so it would hang over the edge like the real statue. Hopefully I did it correctly, never used blender before. I also created a split one to glue together to avoid so many supports, and then tried editing the longer end of the DNA to be slimmer since it isn't supportive anymore. The edit is very rough, in one I filled the ends I cut off and the other I just matched them up with some tiny gaps.
I haven't tried printing any of these yet so no guarantees.
