I have often seen these type of moving art pieces for both indoor and outdoor exhibiting. I really wanted one until I saw the price tag. I said to myself, "I can print myself one", and here is the result.
Although this is version 3 for me, I think I have it printing, assembling, and moving the way I want. It doesn't mean I may not get creative and change things up, but it has been a long and fun journey. I'll take a little break from this project ;-)

UPDATE: I have a newer version of the base that allows the ring to rotate 180 degrees so that it can be viewed in the other direction. I have upload it to the main design page. It works well and it is nice to view the sculpture from the other side or at 90 degrees. The rotating base are the parts: motion-art-moving-XXX.
