Summary

My 80mm brushless micro drone frame, loosely based on the popular "Butterfly" design. Perhaps I'll make a second version that is somehow more interesting.

V 1.3
New Version: 3 zip ties "Topless Mod"- instead of stand-offs and screws. Been flying this/crashing it around on the pavement/carpet in living room, freestyle. Enjoying this extra crash protection. See image #4. 43 grams without the battery or camera. My best flying print so far. Perhaps I'm also becoming a better pilot. Love this version the best, it is very bouncy.

Guess its still on the heavy side since I get about 5 minutes less flying time than the carbon fiber frame I was flying these parts on prior to this frame.

My favorite batteries so far 7.4v: See image #5

Update: My first break after a half dozen battery charges worth. Going to print up and test out the "Rugged" version.

v2 Version: Untested. My first attempt to make the whole thing lighter. Hope its not to flimsy. Cura says its 5 grams less than the first frame bottom!

Needs:
Motors: 1103 I'll make a version for 1104 motors soon cause I have 4 of those also.
Nylon standoffs x 8 size? Where's my caliper thingy?
2 regular-ish sized zip-ties. A few extra small zip ties? (For the crash cage around the camera. The clear part in my rendering is supposed to be zip-ties.) Some rubber bands to secure the camera/video transmitter unit to that piece.

A lot of file work/sanding when I print it in PETG with my Maker Select V2.

New in this version:
Mounting holes for 16mm X16mm FC. What I flew it with last night and some this morning. Fun but still needs some improvement. The camera in the picture actually didn't work, no wonder they sent it to me for free!!!!!!! Ooops. Have some others to swap out. Did once, but broke the antenna for that one. Ooops again! Forgot about crash protection for that was so eager to fly it!

I think its way on the heavy side for a 80mm Micro at 80 something grams. What I still want to work on.

Peace!
