Summary

This is a model of a differential gear train with module 1 gears (M1). The frame is compact so that it sits comfortably in the hand and makes for a great fidget toy for people who like gears and mechanics.

Print the part 03_PlanetGear twice and the part 07_Circlip three times.

The parts are all printed with standard resolution (0.4) and infill (20). Supports should not be necessary. The example print was printed in Eryone Matte Olive Green PLA.

Assembly Instructions

  1. Insert the Input Gear into the hole in the middle of the frame. Place the ring gear near one of the holes on the side of the frame.
  2. Insert Output Gear A though the Ring Gear and though the hole in the frame. Insert Output Gear B into the hole opposite the first output gear
  3. Slide the planet gears between the output gears. You can use the planet gear axle to hold one of the two planet gears in place while you side the second planet gear into position. Slide the output gear axle all the way in so that it is not protruding from either side of the ring gear.
  4. Side the circlips over the groves on the input gear and both output gears to secure them in place.
