Modular Spring

What am I looking at?

This thing is essentially a torsion spring. The two halves pivot around a central shaft in different directions before reaching the limits of the internal spring. Different tools can be locked into position either side to make this spring a useful device.

This part relies on YOU to think of uses and projects that may require some form of spring.

Whatever you design, it can be attached to the hexagons either side of the device and bolted into place with the bolts either side.

• Mounting hexes are 17.5 between flat edges and 5mm deep.

Possible applications: pliers, catapult...?

I think this design could be very useful in many different applications but I'll leave it to you to decide what you would use it for.
