I really like the Geocraper brand of model buildings, but they're just too expensive, so I designed my own. This is a modular model building set that consists of three main components; the pedestals, connectors, and buildings. The buildings have pegs which fit into holes on the pedestals. The pedestals have pegs on the bottom which connect the pedestals together with connectors. The idea is that you print multiple pedestals and buildings to make a modular model city of any size. I'm not sure if this is compatible with actual Geocraper models (it probably isn't) because I don't have any, but it wouldn't take much modifying to make it compatible.
The buildings are from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:12673 and it is very easy to design your own, or add pegs to existing 3D models.
