The file 'Modular Leatherman Wave Holster 3D Printer Model' is (stl) file type, size is 167.5KB.
It's modular. Do you want to carry a flashlight with your Wave, or maybe a fire piston or a diamond hone? Design a holder for it, then add an adapter wedge. The wedge drops into the slots on the side of the Wave holster, and now you're carrying both tools together! Swap out modules to carry different things depending on your task. Dimensions, tips, and an STL for designing your own module are included. The modules on my holster are the Coast G15 holder and the Sharpie Mini holder.
More flexible carrying options. The holster can be worn on the left or right side, angled forwards or backwards, or with no angle at all. It fits belts up to 45 mm wide.
A closer fit to the Wave. I redesigned the holster compartment to be a very close fit to the shape of the Wave. The spring-loaded tool-release buttons on the Wave (the ones you push in to fold the screwdriver/scissors etc. back down) grab the holster to maintain consistent friction over time.
This is a complete redesign of the Comfortable Leatherman Wave belt holster that I uploaded nearly two years ago, which was a remix of several previous designs that are listed on that page.
Wave holster (right side carry).stl
has a 30° forward tilt when worn on the right side, and a backwards tilt when worn on the left side.Wave holster (left side carry).stl
has a 30° forward tilt when worn on the left side, and a backwards tilt when worn on the right side.Wave holster (horizontal belt hole).stl
has no tilt.Module wedge only.stl
is a model of the wedge that fits into the side-slots, ready to be imported into your CAD program if that is how you like to work. This might be the best option for people working in simple CAD programs like Tinkercad or 123D Design.
For those working in other CAD programs, an image of the wedge dimensions can be found in the Thing photos above. In short: Draw a rectangle 15.50 × 3.25 mm, extrude it 50 mm tall, and apply a draft angle of 0.25° to each narrow side to produce a taper. Then attach it to a block that is 8.00 × 2.75 mm and extruded 50 mm tall, which is the stem by which you attach it to your module.
