Summary

Major Update 1/3/2022:

  1. Updated ALL parts with a small 45 degree chamfer on the inside edges, mostly for the purposes of making the clips stronger. Fit should be improved all around. Note that old clips will work with new hexagons but new only work with new.
  2. Reduced length of joiner clips by ~1mm as I discovered they were slightly too long for the closed half-hex.
  3. Added the wall mount bracket! Yay!

Inspired by other modular shelf/displays that weren't quite what I wanted, I made my own!

Print as many hexagons as you want and clip them together any way you want. Mix and match colors!

Included are the full hexagons (internal height 152mm/6"), an open half, a closed half, and the clips to clip them together. (Update: added wall mount bracket)

I use 2 perimeter walls and 1% infill because it gives me the best print times, you can experiment. Not much infill is needed (potentially none if you print thick walls). The bracket requires some kind of support any way you spin it, you decide which way you think is best. I built it long way up with a thin support wall for the lip.

PLA works great but you may want to use heavier-duty materials if you plan to put weight on these. I recommend using at least two wall brackets for stability no matter your configuration, more if you have a large group or heavy items.
