My brother and I wanted to convert his Ender 3 pro to direct drive. Instead of buying creality's official kit, we decided to try the speed drive mod created by sashalex007. It worked well for what it was designed for but we noticed with the original extruder motor, we lost around 17mm on the x axis due to the extruder and the mount hitting the z aluminum extrusion. This modification was designed to be used with a pancake extruder motor to have full clearance of the z aluminum extrusion. This solves the problem of having to cut or sand off portions of the original mount that would bump into the z axis.
