Summary

Elkana contacted me with the idea of designing a trolling motor cage. I actually do not have the motor so the measurements might varies... This is my first attempt to have this cage for a motor.
I used the following measurement, after confirming with Elkana:

mount_ring_outer_dia=83.44mm
cage_ring_outer_dia=280mm

The cage ring and the mount ring is 50 mm apart

The mount ring and the cage ring is printed in two pieces each and 3mm stainless bolt and nuts shall be used to put them together.

The middle protective ring was updated as two piece print and the blades shall be slid through as putting together each sides. It is tilted cut 22.5 degrees housing 4 blades each

The 8 blades shall be printed separately again..

The blades are locking in to the Mount ring and the cage ring at assembly...

I redesigned the blade Cage side ends to give more space to the prop and having a smaller cage ring with 280 diameter, also coming to the fact when assembling it must fit and slide through the middle ring hole, what the previous iteration would not do...

I have not printed this design, so please use it at your own risk, if you think the measurements are not correct please contact me!

If you really like it you could donate via thingiverse.

I suggest to

  • print the mount rings first and see if the size is fitting ok
  • print a middle ring and a blade as second print to see if mounting together works
  • if all ok print outer cage ring and more blades...

Enjoy.. :)
