SSDs are probably fine, but 2.5" magnetic hard drives have some exposed circuitry on the bottom. I didn't want to risk placing this on my PC case and shorting something.
So I extended the bottom edge of the design so a drive can sit flat and not worry about shorting out (assuming you don't print with some crazy conductive filament!)
You can add rubber feet or something. There's a cutout to make removal of the drive easier.
Works with the Startech SATA to USB adapters like those pictured, and their clones.
If you print standing up like the STL you shouldn't need any supports (but a brim could be useful).
