This is a project I'm still working on - it's a miniature bee hive. It's based on the classic Langstroth design. My goal is to make something that can printed on a 250mm x 200mm build platform such as my MakerGear M2.
So far I've modeled the brood box and one of the screens. I think this brood box design can also be used as a super. The screens need to be printed at 15% infill, hexagonal fill to achieve the 5mm cell size needed. The screen will need to be dipped in beeswax prior to use. I made it so 10 screens will fit in the box.
I'll be uploading a queen excluder, the baseboard and a roof soon.
Will it actually work? I have no idea, but the plans are to get with a beekeeper to improve the design as needed.
