The file 'Milo Plante Golf Ball Cannon 3D Printer Model' is (3mf,stl) file type, size is 2.7MB.
Use at your own risk. I accept no liability for personal injury or property damage.
The intent for this device is to use it as a salute to our troops. Do not make or operate this device without taking proper safety precautions. Plastic cannons can shatter unexpectedly.
This is a functional golf ball cannon I designed for a former C++ teacher, Milo Plante.
The STL provided has all the parts inside it, simply split it apart with your favorite slicing program. 3MF is provided with suggested settings for a Bambulab X1C.
Print the cannon barrel and stakes with solid infill, tree supports for the barrel. The cannon stand can be printed with a normal 15% infill. Tested in PLA.
The cannon is designed to use a firecracker as propellent. See the supplied image for the proper firecracker placement. The firecracker should press firmly into the internal slot, inside the barrel. Wear eye protection, use with caution and at your own risk. Get behind solid cover after the fuse is lit.
Instructions: Stake the cannon base into the ground with the four stakes (gently use a hammer, if necessary), firmly insert a firecracker into the slot inside the cannon, then tap a golf ball firmly into the cannon muzzle. The golf ball will only go in about half way, for safety. Use with caution. The golf ball will shoot over 50 feet.
