I wanted a decent method feeder for carp fishing without having to pay for shipping. I have not yet tested this, but it looks like a good start. Please let me know if you print one (especially let me know if you get a fish with it!!)
You can use a standard slider weight, put your line through the feeder's top hold (front to back), string up your lead, and then feed the line back-to-front through the bottom feeder hole. Add in some feed and a hook and you're all set! Optionally, you can put some beads in between your lead and the feeder to prevent the lead from banging against the plastic parts over time.
One challenge - having less infill leaves an air pocket. You may need either a slightly larger lead, or to print this with more infill. I plan to try one at 50% and one at 100% infill and see if they perform differently.
The model is completely parametric - if you open it up in any scad program you can adjust the length and width of the method feeder and it will scale up/down properly. I tested lengths from 10mm to 1000mm with a width of 30mm and got good results.
