Summary

This is a mechanical tentacle glove for use in my halloween costume. It is operated by pulling the wires with the finger to flex tentacle. It looks creepy, but is not great for actually picking up anything. Maybe I just need more practice.

To assemble you will need:

  • 5x M3 bolts about 12mm long
  • 1m 1.6mm wire rope
  • Super Glue
  • 2x 16cm long 5mm diameter dowel

Instructions:
Print everything out. The connector pieces are glued on the square end, and freely rotating on the rounded end. Each "vertebra" is numbered, and the connector have a number of bumps that line up with those numbers. For example, the number "3" vertebra is glued to the connectors with 3 bumps on them.

Note:
The cuff part that fits on the hand has been designed to fit snugly on my hand, which is just under 9cm across the palm. This part might need to be modified to fit your hand.
