I also had the problem, like many other Mazda 5 drivers (https://www.mazda-forum.info/threads/anschlag-vom-rueckwaertsgang-abgebrochen.80124/), that reverse gear was suddenly no longer locked.
So when I tried to engage 1st gear, it was possible to accidentally shift into reverse without having to press down on the gear stick.
As the broken plastic part that is supposed to lock reverse gear is unfortunately only available together with the complete gearshift gate (8159025200tfx) >100-700€
I first tried to glue/plastic-weld/reinforce the broken part with metal struts.
Then I bought two used gearshift gates (one had the same part already broken, the other one developed a hairline crack after 3 months.
I therefore scanned the part and optimized its stability somewhat.
Hence two files. One is the scan of the glued original part and the other is what I think is the better version.
