The file 'Material Sample Spool 3D Printer Model' is (IGS,STEP,STL) file type, size is 54.3KB.
I ordered a couple of ColorFab sample kits and had to come up with something that would hold the material for printing. This is a simple design that is easy to print. This part is designed as a push fit but I used super glue to secure the arms into the hub.
As this spool has very little weight there is a chance that the filament will cause the spool to spin and unwind. I prevent this by pushing some kitchen paper inside the hub. This increases the friction between the hub and what ever it it mounted on and stops the "free" spinning.
One thing I would change is to only glue 3 of the arms into place. This would allow the 4th arm to be removed and then the material would be removed from the spool easier.
