Summary

Add some masts to your boat models. These are ideally suited for converting rowboats, ferries and dinghys into sailboats. Included is a range of masts, booms and mounts. Mix-and-match as required. The models are scaled about 1-in-10 and may be resized to suit your application.

When printing with a filament printer:

  • Print only one mast/boom at a time. Multiple mounts are okay.
  • Print with the mast/boom oriented upright.
  • Use a brim for the mast/boom. Brim not required for the mounts.
  • Make sure that you have good bed adhesion.
  • Use a least 20% infill.
  • No supports are required.

After printing:

  • Clean up, prime and paint.
  • Attach the mount to your boat using epoxy or other adhesive.
  • Attach the boom to the mast.
  • Make a sail from material or other thin stuff and attach it to your mast/boom.
  • Insert the mast into the mount - use adhesive for a permanent joint.
  • Add some rigging.
