Summary

I wanted to mount a featherboard on my tablesaw fence. The commercially-available Magswitch bases are way too wide for that, so I made this mini version to get the job done.

Since my printer's bed is too small to print a base the same length as the commercial bases, I designed this mini base so that I could use two of them to mount one of Magswitch's featherboards. To keep things flexible, I added additional bolt slots to accommodate smaller parts with 80mm and 100mm-wide mounting patterns.

To help prevent bolts from flying everywhere when breaking down a jig-setup, and keep the bolts steady once they're inserted, I covered the slots and left an oval hole just big enough to wiggle through the head of a 1/4"-20 carriage bolt.

Magswitch's stock 45 degree risers are intended for use with a base that's mounted on the same level as the workpiece and didn't work well with fence-mounted bases. I designed "magjig_riser_right_angle" to allow featherboards to reach the table surface.

My mini featherboards are designed to attach to these bases: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2284341
