The file 'Magnetic Screw Tray 3D Printer Model' is (stl) file type, size is 608.5KB.
I take apart electronic / small products often. When I do, I tend to want to keep screws laid out similar to their original positions. Unfortunately, that often proves difficult.
I made this tray with a 7X5 configuration hoping that the grid can serve as a good layout of screw locations. I made each dish round to facilitate screw removal. I also put a 6mm diameter x 3mm deep cavity under each dish location so that a 6mmX3mm magnet can be pressure-fitted in. This will prevent any accidental bump to the dish causing screws to fly everywhere. In case you can't tell, the 3rd picture is taken with the tray held vertically in front of my monitor and the screw is still held in place.
I am currently testing another design with captive magnets. Please let me know if anyone might be interested in that variation.
BTW, I designed this in Fusion 360 using parameters. If anyone needs a larger version, please let me know. I can generate the STL for you.
