Basis for a Magnetic Reed Switch (MRS) which can exchange the existing switches 1:1
This MRS recognize the balls up to 5mm. The switch fits the switch hole of Stern Spike2. Original screws and wholes can be used. Please check the pictures. Did not check if it fits others as well.
Following parts are needed:
2 neodym magnets 5x4x1,5 mm
1 reed switch 14x2mm standard open
2 wire cabel
The reed switch internal contacts have to be the same direction than the two magnets. So surfaces have to be parallel.
After wiring and soldering everything together, the switch housing can be glued together und the magnets can be pushed into the housing.
Unsolder the original switch and solder the new MRS to the two wires. Don't forget to isolate the soldering points.
