A simple and easy to print magnetic filament dust filter to prevent a clogged nozzle caused by dust on the filament.
Printing:
- Print in an upright position.
- Settings: 0.2 mm layer height, 15 % Infill, 40 mm/s
- Material: PLA
- Normally the case can be printed without support
Components:
- 2x Housing
- 8x 6x3 mm round magnets
- 2x 18x20x5 mm foam (The foam with which e.g. Arduinos are delivered.)
- 2x 18x20x1 mm cotton (I use a pad of vaping cotton, like puff cotton)
- a few drops of superglue
Assembling:
- Put a drop of superglue into each hole for the magnets and push the magnets flush into the housing. Make sure that the magnets are installed so that both parts of the housing can be installed together.
- Place the cotton on the foam and push it into the housing notches.
- Attach to the filament and be happy that the nozzle no longer clogged. ;)
