This two-piece remix modifies the magnetic cable clip to utilize four 5mm x 2mm magnets. The clip can of course be used with less magnets, although I found that four allows for a satisfyingly stronger hold.
I've released two different versions depending on the size of your cables. Most USB cables will work fine with the 3.25mm variant. However, I've run into issues with my braided, higher bandwidth USB-C cables, so they use the 5.5mm version.
In addition, I created an optional dock for attaching the clips to. It's not necessary, but helps if you don't have a magnetic surface nearby or would like to keep the cables evenly spaced. I mounted the dock using double sided 3m tape.
After printing, the magnets can be pressed into place with a pair of pliers. I had little issue with the standard clearance. However, if the magnets still don't fit, I've made an extra clearance version with .5mm more working room. In the case of having too much additional space, I'd recommend supergluing the magnets into their appropriate positions. When placing the magnets in, I'd recommend ensuring that the polarity of each magnet match.
