This is a quick way to connect and disconnect dust hoses for woodworking. This particular model is designed for 4 inch diameter hose. The eight 2.75x10 mm rare earth magnets on one of these are intended to mate with an identical connector (see picture), for a total of 16 magnets for both sides of the connection. Be sure to match the polarity + and - on each side!
I press each magnet fully into its hole with a pair of pliers. A drop of CA glue placed in each hole before pressing them in is a good idea. The pattern on the edge is intended to be an alignment guide when attaching the two sides.
