This is my own personally designed battery adaptor for the Macintosh Portable. The entire case fits in the existing slot for the original battery but adapts to a new style 6V 5Ah lead acid battery.
The exact dimensions of the battery I used were - 6V 5AH QTAB 2.75X1.85X3.9IN (LXWXH).
I cut out some 0.8mm thick copper sheets to size, and wired them up to the battery using spade connectors.
