Summary

2024-02-25: Due to the outward shape of the front of the seat I noticed that raising the seat by 3cm those parts started hitting the inside of my knees which from my own experience will lead to knee pain over time. So I've created and uploaded a 2cm riser as well to try to combat that.

A riser for the Lynx BD Seat which makes the seat higher.

The BD seat for the Lynx is pretty popular and many riders have this seat for their Lynx, however I felt that this seat on the Lynx made me sit a bit too low which for me personally can be a cause of back-ache so I designed this riser to raise it up by 3cm. A 2cm version is now also available.

This riser is printed in two parts (front and rear) that interlink with each-other, I made it two parts due to the size making it more practical to print and lowering the requirement on printer size.

To install this seat you need to replace the 5 screws that hold the seat onto the metal part for longer screws, take one of the original screws out and measure it, for the 3cm version you will need 5 countersunk M5 screws that are 30mm longer than the original and for the 2cm version you will need 5 countersunk M5 screws that are 20mm longer than the original.

This riser should be printed in TPU95A, I printed the two parts differently with the front part laying down on the print bed and the rear part standing up on it's rear, due to this I also used different infill settings for them. If you are printing this with a softer filament you will probably need to increase walls and/or infill from my settings.

Lynx_BD_Seat_Riser_Front.stl:
2 Walls
Normal Supports
12% Grid Infill

Lynx_BD_Seat_Riser_Rear.stl:
2 Walls
Tree Supports
12% Tri-Hexagon Infill, Infill Direction: 90° (The infill direction is important here, you want this infill to mimic grid to add vertical strength to the print since the model is standing up vertically on the print bed)

Installation Tip:
This is purely optional and can be done even without this riser on the stock seat, I put a small bit of Velcro below the seat to attach it to the top of the Lynx to make the seat lock onto the wheel even stronger as I like to off-road and wanted to minimize the risk of the seat popping open if the wheel takes a fall, the only downside with this is that it takes a bit more force to fold the seat up.
