Summary

Originally inspired from user Ductsoup's Lulzbot Mini Light:

I downloaded the Solidworks file for my Lulzbot Mini's handle and modified it to fit a rocker switch that would control the power for a strip of 5050 LEDs (six LEDs total). I designed the LED light to use the same mounting hardware as the original handle that came with the printer. The handle should use two brass heat set inserts to mount to the printer's frame; size: M3-.5 thread & 6.4mm length.

I used an old AC/DC power supply I found at Goodwill to run the lights. I mounted the DC power jack into one of the larger holes in the frame (I had to drill the hole out for the jack to fit). I added a photo of the back of printer showing the location of the DC power jack. From there, I ran wire within the frame and placed the rocker switch within the positive wire. I added male/female connectors before the handle in case I ever want to remove it without bringing all the wire with.

I have attached the original file for the handle I downloaded from Lulzbot's website (name: Handle_bar_camellia_v2.4.SLDPRT). I have also attached my modified file (name: Lulzbot_Mini_Handle.SLDPRT) along with v1 and v2 .stl files. The part shown in my photos is the v2 .stl file. v1 has only one arm going to the LEDs while v2 has two. v2 seemed to have a bit more strength when being assembled so I went with that.

Power supply: purchased an old AC/DC adapter for an old electronic toy from Goodwill but any DC power supply that has an output of 0.15 amps should work (based off running 6 5050 sized LEDs). After doing the math, the 6 LEDs should be consuming about 1.44w at 12v DC at 0.12 amps.
