The file 'Luksastro 3D Printable Prime Focus Telescope 3D Printer Model' is (stl) file type, size is 774.2KB.
This is a design for a prime focus telescope body. The scope is designed to be a modular 6" reflector. This means that any focal length mirror of 6" can be used in this telescope by simply adjusting the length of the body rods. (The clamp design allows the main and secondary optical tubes to be moved relative to each other at any time, whether it be for rough focusing or for switching focal lengths). The configuration shown above is for planetary viewing, with an f12 6" mirror and a ZWO ASI 224MC planetary camera.
Parts In Addition to 3D printed Parts-
-6" Mirror of your choice
-ZWO Camera (or other camera if you make custom mount)
-x4 3/8" steel tubing to the desired length
-x4 M4x10mm screws (Nuts Optional if not comfortable threading into plastic)
-x3 3/16"x2" bolts/washers/nuts(to fit holes in Primary Mirror Holder)
-x4 3/16"x2" (for camera fine focusing)
-x8 1.5" springs (acting as vibration dampening and standoff for both Primary Mirror holder and fine focusing on Camera Holder)
-x1 Small all thread w/ nut to fit center of ZWO camera for fine focusing
To mount the mirror, bolt the Primary Mirror Holder and Primary Mirror Holder Tray together with 3/16" bolts and nuts, making sure to place 1.5" springs on the bolts in between the two part. Collimation will be done by individually loosening or tightening the three base bolts. The mirror is friction fit in the holder, but a some type of rubber padding/adhesive is recommended for better grip.
