The file 'Look Keo To Flat Pedal With Cage And Straps 3D Printer Model' is (stl) file type, size is 106.8KB.
Very quickly designed adapter for converting look keo pedals to flats WITH a toe cage and straps, as you would on an indoor bike in a gym for example.
I have some spare plastic toe cages and straps as well as spare look cleats. This will allow me to put keos on my stationary bike and the rest of the family will be able to attach flat pedals when needed.
Yes it will add quite a lot to the stack height. But hey get some road shoes if you don't like :-D
50% infill , PLA
as yet unproven for longevity
2 versions I decided to extend the back of the prototype by 15mm and sink the strap into the surface
The holes are designed at 4.7mm diameter as measured with a micrometer so that the cleat bolts and toe cage bolts should self tap straight in. It might be necessary to get longer bolts for the cleats I am not sure the provided ones will go far enough into the plastic to have enough strength, ymmv. if your printer is not dialled for extrusion you might not get 4.7mm.
Will upload a photo when the finished product is on the bike. Also need to figure out easiest way to remove from the bike!
Editi: I am using 16mm M5 bolts for the cleats and this seems to hold OK. Very pleased with the result we will see if the PLA holds through usage though I think usage will be low.
Edit: I found a screwdriver helps to remove them
Would love to know if this works OK on spd-sl, I don't see why not same 3 bolt design.
