Summary

If you work with locks, repining them, you may have done what I did this morning. Which is to dump your collection of pins springs etc. on the floor. I immediately realized that the tool they give to identify pin sizes is too loosey goosey to do the job quickly. Much faster for sorting the pins by size back into their little bins is to put them side-by-side in a tray and sort them out that way. I initially did this with a bit of index card and then quickly realized that I could 3D print something pretty useful for this.

So this is that sorting tray. This is NOT a pinning tray for laying out pins before installing them in a lock. This is a sorting tray for sorting dumped pins back into their little bins in the box they can in. BTW: that plastic cover is not attached to the tray. Eventually I taped one side of it to prevent a complete repeat. Might be better to store them in old film cans or something, but in the meantime for 20 minutes of print time, you can print out this handy tray.

Notes for further enhancement. You COULD increase the lean of the tray. I set it to 15 degrees, but you could do more. The Fusion file is completely parametric so have at it.
