This is an ultra-lightweight and compact battery box for the Suzuki DRZ 400 S, SM, and E model motorcycles. It's designed to fit the lithium-iron battery Shorai recommends for the DRZ 400, the LFX14A2-BS12 (210 CCA vs. ~70 CCA stock).

I definitely recommend this upgrade for the bike, in part for doubling the effective battery capacity and for the weight savings. It shaves roughly 6 lbs off the bike at one of the highest points on the chassis. The new battery makes up a good 5+ lbs of those weight savings and my battery box will save a few more ounces and eliminate the need to stuff the old battery box full of foam to secure the battery.
I could make the box a bit slimmer, but I felt the extra volume could help absorb any impacts (like rocks thrown up by the rear tire).
Unlike some of the other high-capacity modifications for the bike (using bigger lead-acid batteries), this setup creates more space for wide rear tires, not less.
