History of the lighthouse.
The designer of the lighthouse was Quirinus Harder.
In 1877 the construction of the Lange Jaap began.
The sixteen-sided tower is made entirely of cast iron plates with a raised edge that screwed together, making the lighthouse very heavy (506.100 kg of cast iron).
With a height of 63,45 meters, LangeJaap is the tallest lighthouse still burning in the Netherlands and the tallest cast-iron tower in Europe.
The climb to the top has 284 steps.
If you want to print the model without the lighting simulation print all except the battery cap top and/or bottom.
I printed the 3 sections and the roof in dark red, the battery base in dark grey, the balcony in White and the bulb housing in transparent.
After printing, just glue the parts together, optional paint the doors green.
If you decide to put the Lighting option in the tower you need extra:
Printing: Battery cap top and Bottom
