This is designed to hold a 3mm light pipe in place within a Boxy Pixel Shell when using FroggoCustoms battery indicator mod.
The FroggoCustoms Game Boy Color Battery Indicator Mod has two LEDs to let you know when you're GBC battery power is low.
Without a light pipe, the LED will shine directly into your eyes if held at what I think is a comfortable angle. So for about a day I was using my newly modded GBC and trying to hold it in a way where I wasn't blinded.
While you can pressure fit the light pipe in place, I'm afraid that too much movement would move it out of place, so I designed this piece to fit behind a funny playing Q5 laminated screen.
So if you have the very same mods, the Q5 laminated screen, Boxy Pixel shell, and the FroggoCustoms LED battery indicator, then this is for you!
While the light pipe helped the angle the light was shining out at, it was still pretty bright. So I used some 220 grit sandpaper on both sides of the light pipe and then when this was still too bright, used a little bit of sharpie on the side that touches the LEDs to get an acceptable brightness.
The piece itself has a small space for the ribbon cable. I used no supports.
