Custom bracket to mount the UCS Millennium Falcon 75192 to the wall in a vertical position. All other ways I've seen to mount the set in this position have used wood and the final versions were not perfectly secure. This 3D printed design allows the set to be gravity-mounted with hooks that prevent it from sliding off. The Model also has a 2.5-degree slant to it so it does not have a chance to fall off.
The model should be printed on its side so there are no weak points caused by layer line orientation. I did a prototype print with one wall and 10% infill out of PLA and it feels strong enough to mount, but I recommend at least three walls and 20% infill. The set only weighs about 16-lbs (7.3-kg) so PLA should be plenty strong enough. The bracket was designed to not be too stressed from the weight. I printed mine with 5 walls and 35% adaptive cubic infill, it took about 8 hours to print and used around 300g of filament.
I am using the large drywall anchors as they were the only ones I had. You could probably use smaller anchors and screws but I have not tested it.
Feel free to modify aspects of the model such as the bolt holes for your requirements. A step and Solidworks file have been uploaded for easy adjustment.
This is my first upload, so let me know if I should change anything about the post. Or just let me know that everything works. Thanks!
EDIT: The feet of the falcon do need to be removed to successfully mount.
