The original model is perfect for normal LEGO Speed Champion sets but the underside of the McLaren Formula 1 car set is thin and required the horizontal portion of the mount to be turned vertical to work with this underside.
I do not have the Mercedes F1 set, but I would imagine it would require this mount as well.
This is for the Speed Champion Set 76919 2023 McLaren Formula 1 Race Car.
