Summary

EDIT: I added a 4-pin version per a request. I do not know if it will work or not, as I do not have any 4-pin led strips to test the fitment. If anyone wants to test it out and let me know if it's good or if it needs any changes, that would be cool.

I have a ton of LED strips to solder for a project, so I decided to design something to help me out with it. This is a quick and easy print.

It's designed for use with 22awg wire and the ws2812b led strip. I'm not sure if other 3 pin led strips are the same width, but I'd assume so. The wires and led light strip just press fit in. No need for extra clamps or anything. If needed, you can use double-sided tape or hot glue to secure it to your workspace.

UPDATE 01/26/2021: After a couple days with the first one, I made it through soldering 60 separate joints, so 180 total pads before it finally failed completely. First one was PLA and I'm going to try and print the next one in PETG and see if it holds up any longer.

UPDATE 01/27/2021: I had some PLA loaded still, so decided to just print a few of em in that again. I printed 4, took about 20mins. I realized there's too many variables to estimate lifespan. So just plan on them being a "throwaway" tool and print extras. First one today lasted me for about 42 pads soldered. Second one another 60 pads soldered.

Depending on how much longer this project takes me, I may just keep using PLA and keep tossing them when they're bad. But if you want to try PETG or ABS, you might get a little more life out of them.
