I needed a simple, low profile, adjustable light for a project and decided it was easiest to just make my own. All the parts were surplus from other projects. I just had to make the structural parts. Laser cutting was easiest and quickest, so with parts in hand, and specific measurements for my project, designing the parts was pretty easy. I wanted it to be as adjustable as possible so a multi-arm design seemed best. I salvaged the LED strips from an exhibit being replaced at work and the switch from a collection of spare parts.
