Summary

This is a remix of a laundry detergent cup holder by scubasonar. I printed that a while back for my wife and she loved it, but has developed arthritis in her hand and is nearly unable to push the little button on the top of the spout. She just opened a new bottle today and the spring was so stiff that she could not push it down. So I studied what to do and came up with this solution. I am going to include two clamps. One with the cup holder and one without the cup holder. You just have to chose which you prefer and use that one. The handle will work on either clamp. There are three stl files. One is for the lever, it will fit either clamp. There are two clamp files, one with the cup holder and one without the cup holder. After printing you need to put a 3X20mm screw and nut on the clamp and tighten it to the cap on the detergent bottle. You will need a 3X45mm screw with a lock nut to attach the lever to the clamp. This acts as the hinge pin that is why I suggest a lock nut here. Make sure the "button" on the lever is placed downward so that it contacts the "button" on the spout. I think you will find that this will make wash day a little easier on the person that's doing the laundry. When you change to a new jug of detergent, simply screw the entire lid off the old jug and put it on the new jug as one unit and you will need no tools. Hope someone out there can find this useful to them. I have just updated the files. I enlarged the holes very slightly so that a standard 6/32 screw will fit them. This was due to the problem in my area of finding a 3mm screw long enough to go through the handle. So now standard hardware will work just fine, also the enlargement was so slight that the 3mm should work too if you wish to go that route. 6/32X1.75 screw will work for the handle. Hint, use a 6/32X2 if you desire the threads to stick out of the nut.
