Summary

Etch solid portions, so that the braille dots are raised. I’d recommend raising the dots further with several layers of glue. (A tester also noted that the change in texture helped legibility.) The dots will be fragile, so your settings will probably need a lot of fine tuning.

As for the dots on settlements/cities/roads, I would recommend raising them with glue and painting them coordinating colors (for any sighted players.) Players 1-4 are denoted by that number of dots.

I cut my player pieces and hexes with wood slightly thicker than that of the board for legibility.

Etched patterns for the hexes are on the way, so that they can be read faster/easier. Different fabrics on the blank area might help with legibility until then. (Thanks for the suggestion, Gav!)
