I was looking for a Galvo for my new laser. This 2D Galvo can be used for 2D engraving/cutting, mosquito killer, low speed laser projector or whatever you need...
Mirrors:
Instead of buying proper mirrors, I took an old HDD and cut them out with a Dremel tool. Before cutting is recommendable to add some printing tape in order to avoid scratches.
If using cyanoacrylate to paste the mirrors put again some printing tape to avoid crystallisation on the mirror side.
I have cut the motor shaft but I would recommend to add some washers to place the mirrors at the proper distance instead.
It is important to notice that the mirror pieces are not symmetrical because the mirror surface must be aligned with the rotation axis.
Drivers:
I've tried the Pololu A4988 but they were little bit jerky to the point that I wasn't able to create straight lines. By using drv8825 stepper drivers the vibrations had been reduced and the moves are smoother.

Each side of the shape corresponds to a 100x100 steps of a 1/32 nema17 μstepping ratio
