I've been fascinated by M C Escher's work since childhood. This is a slightly simplified adaption of his hand drawn work for use with a laser cutter. Two birds tessellate to cover a surface of any size. The ones in the picture were etched with the laser approximately 8-10 mm out of focus for a nice, thick vector line, then refocused and cut.
