A soap dish pattern for laser-cutting (I used 3mm acrylic).
The design focuses as much on efficiency-of-manufacture (minimal material wastage) as on elegance-of-function.
I found that having a nice, tight tolerance on the slot width made for a better final product. This meant tweaking the design to match the precise thickness of the acrylic (which I've found can drift by 5%, or more, from nominal). So I built a 'customisable' generator, published here for others to use.
The DXF with this Thing assumes a 3mm-thick material.
