Summary

A laser cut case for the Raspberry Pi 3, inspired by Pibow by Pimoroni.

Since newer versions of Pibow (for the newer Raspberry Pis) were designed but never released, i've decided to make my own and release it.

I've managed to reduce the number of layers (from 10 to 8) and the overall dimensions (from 99x66x30mm to 90x62x24mm), compared to pibow. This was achieved by some half-thickness carves and by using the Raspberry Pi's mounting holes.

  • To make the carves, set your laser to engrave about 1.5mm (half thickness of the acrylic). It may require some testing, but it's totally worth it.
  • Using the Raspberry's mounting holes requires M2.5 screws, which may not be very common. To overcome this, you may just expand the holes in the board with a 3mm drill and use plain M3. The holes in the case will fit M3 screws with no modification.

Made from 3mm (1/8") acrylic.

Two versions are provided: one with the voronoi on top, the other without it.
