Ensuring that you have a good air assist for your laser is essential for good quality cuts. This is designed to be used with 8mm outer diameter hose with a bicycle pump needle on the tip. Design can be easily modified to fit the hose diameter and nozzle you may be using. I highly suggest using a bicycle pump needle, or other syringe type nozzle, as it better directs the airflow and pressure of the air source, allowing you to use smaller and quieter compressors.
The file provided differs from the assist in the pictures. After I cut the one in the picture, I realized my design made it difficult to actually screw in the machine screws that hold it to the laser head plate. This revised version now has room for a screwdriver to assist install, and has 2 adjusted clips that hold parts together. The two with the rounded bottoms, are meant to be used on the bottom most tab that holds the needle in place. This allows the armature to pass over the lower plate that covers the stepper motor cover on the bottom of the cut area.
Be sure when assembling this, to start from the bottom and work your way up. Mine is held together with liquid cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). I would suggest this glue, or some sort of plastic welder to ensure its rock solid. It is held onto the the larger plate that I designed by 2 small bolts that attach in the extended adjustment slots on the plate. Once in place, and bolted down, it is rock solid on the plate, but can be easily removed for maintenance.
