Summary

I saw some bookends of a giraffe a while back & decided to make my own with a guitar. I added the musical notes as an after thought to support the neck of the guitar.
First time figuring two axis of slots to line up.

This was made from 1/4" acrylic & glued with acrylic glue WeldOn #4. I used a 40W laser with speed 35, power 100 & 4 passes. Black items are to engrave, I cut he blue first & magenta lines 2nd. Just did, no real reason beyond visually separating the bookends from the guitar & musical notes.

Two suggestions/mistakes I made on this : 1) Don't work zoomed up all the time - I did and things looked sturdy enough. When lased out, the musical score lines were very thin to where one broke when being removed from the material. 2) Make a jig or use clay to support the guitar neck while the glue dries. I did not. I just leaned it against an overhanging book to prop against the neck of the guitar. The neck angled out & now it is not at the same angle as the body of the guitar on the other bookend - Not noticeable with many books in-between, but 3 or less....much more noticeable.
